Lower Back Pain Relief

When you have a persistent lower back pain you will have a quick mood change from nice to grumpy. There are different ways that you can acquire lower back pain, i.e. lifting something improperly; a bad night’s sleep on an uncomfortable mattress; a sports injury, standing for long period of time in an uncomfortable position, sitting in an uncomfortable chair, and so many more reasons. If you back pain persists but it is not serous enough to head for the doctor’s office than you can get rid of that back pain with home remedies.

You can get back pain relief with over the counter pain products, exercise, comfortable chairs, good nutritious diet, herbs. Herbs should not be used if you know nothing about herbs or if you are taking medication for your pain. Discuss the use of herbs with your medical professional as that person is most familiar with the medications you are taking and what would be incompatible with that medication.

Earlier we mentioned exercise as a form of relief for your lower back pain. Here are two exercises to get you started.

·Lie on the floor and place a neck roll or a rolled towel under your neck. Place your legs on the couch or a chair. You should look as if you are sitting but in a lying position. This should alleviate your back pain.

·Lie on the floor and bring your knees up to your chest and with your hands around your legs move from side-to-side for a minute or two and then rest. Move again for a minute or two and rest. Continue to do this for about fifteen minutes.

Here are a few therapies we would like to recommend to help rid you of your lower back pain: take slow deep breaths and that will rid you of some of your lower back pain; if you have access to a swimming pool then swim to alleviate that lower back pain; it is suggested that drinking two large glasses of water when the pain starts will help rid of that pain; and plenty of good comfortable bed rest on a firm mattress wil also help. Sitting for period of time at your computer while you work will also contribute to back pain and using an ergonomic chair will help you keep that back pain in check.

Some of the herbs that are said to alleviate lower back pain are: burdock, slippery elm, devils claw and white willow bark. These herbs have properties that are recommended for pain management, to relieve inflammation and to relieve pain. You should heed our earlier word of caution and talk to your medical professional before using any herbs and especially if you are using prescription medication. Again, this is something that should be discussed with your medical professional.
